Portrait Drawing and Painting

Would you like individualized instruction in both drawing and painting portraits in oil? Then this is the class for you! Working with long poses, you will have time to develop an accurate likeness of the sitter. Demonstrations will be done in charcoal and oil paint. The core of lessons will
be based on anatomy, proportion, drawing value, edges, planes of the head, composition, lighting, and posing the model. Bring your chosen medium. If you are new to working from life, start with drawing.

At BAYarts:
Beginner to Intermediate/High School-Adult
This course is designed for beginner-intermediate level oil painters. Through a series of exercises student will learn the fundamentals of color theory, color mixing and paint application. Class assignments will be done from direct observation and will gradually increase in difficulty. Instruction will be individualized to each students skill level. Prerequisite: Students should have basic drawing skills.
